Insurance Coverage & Questions

Townsend wants you or your loved one to get the drug or alcohol treatment needed to escape the chaos of addiction. Most health insurance plans cover all or part of Townsend’s treatment costs. Since individual insurance plans differ, the co-pay or out-of-pocket expenses varies according to your specific coverage. When you contact Townsend Treatment Centers, our Treatment Consultants can explain costs based on your insurance information.

Treatment Costs: Recovery Saves Money

Addiction causes not only damage to families and relationships, but it also affects days missed at work and can result in being fired. This financial expense puts a hardship on you and your family. They need you to get better, your employer needs you back in the workplace. Insurance companies want to help keep your addiction in remission because it may prevent you from developing more serious health issues in the future.

Insurance Providers

Blue Cross Blue Shield is one of many insurance providers and managed care companies that cover treatment at Townsend facilities. We work with many of the larger insurance companies on helping individuals with addiction get the personalized addiction help they need to turn their lives around.

Specific Insurance Benefits

Benefits & Coverage

Townsend facilities have contracts with most health insurance plans, HMOs, and arranged care companies. We will help you obtain information about your insurance policy but specific coverage and benefits vary greatly. Your insurance carrier may require reviews of treatment during your stay and we work with them to provide information required to determine medical necessity of services. However, we has no control over the review outcomes, and reviews do not guarantee payment by your insurance carrier. Please understand that our facilities cannot hold your insurance company responsible for payment of fees.

Patient Responsibility

Regardless of your insurance provider, the policy is a contract between you and the insurance company and patients are responsible for co-payments and deductibles. Personal checks and credit cards are accepted. To sort out insurance coverage when you arrive, bring your insurance ID card and your driver’s license. If you have questions regarding financial considerations or need assistance, the Townsend Patient Financial Services Department is available to help.

Financing Treatment

Affordable Treatment

Townsend is committed to making high-quality addiction treatment affordable and accessible for individuals and families across Louisiana. We work with our patients to establish financial solutions for treatment. We offer a unique financing program for qualifying patients to help pay for their addiction help and family members may apply on behalf of a patient should there be a credit issue.

Investing in Recovery

The expense of addiction help is actually an investment in your family, future health, and happiness. Many people are unaware of the true costs that come with continued addiction. The emotional toll on family and the cumulative effects on one’s career are costs that become difficult to assess.

Forms of Payment

Townsend accepts the following methods of payment:
