Is the Honey Badger addicted to Marijuana?
A lot of folks are wondering why the former LSU great would get in trouble again with pot, when it could cost him a return to the team and potentially millions of dollars.
One medical expert says the problem might not be the drug itself, but an addiction illness. Dr. Howard Wetsman is the Chief Medical Officer of the Townsend Treatment Centers and said this doesn’t mean that marijuana is not addictive.
“Any drug can cause addiction if taken enough quantity for long enough, there can be actual damage to the brain.”
Many advocates of legalizing marijuana insist it is not addictive.
Wetsman says addiction is incurable whether it’s drugs, sex or gambling; but it can be managed with proper treatment.
“While addiction is chronic and incurable, it isn’t untreatable, and no one with addiction has to use; and nobody with addiction has to die from the illness,” said Wetsman.
He believes with treatment and proper management people can return to a successful life.
