Cordina New Orleans Cocktails topped this year’s LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses, which honors companies founded or led by LSU graduates.

LSU officials honored the 100 fastest-growing companies at a luncheon Friday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. A record number of 180 businesses submitted financial details to be considered for the list. The list, calculated by Postlethwaite & Netterville, is based on compounded growth from 2009 to 2011. In order to be considered for the Tiger 100, a business must be at least five years old and post revenue of more than $100,000 in 2009.

Cordina was co-founded by Craig Cordes, who graduated from LSU in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. The 6-year-old company sells premixed cocktails in pouches — sort of like a juice box for adults — designed for sipping on the beach or by the pool. Cordina has more than 130 employees and its beverages are sold at grocery stores and pharmacies across the U.S.

Shoreline Energy LLC, a Houston-based oil and gas company, whose CEO, Frank Willoughby graduated from LSU in 1988 and Vice President Dan Hurley graduated in 1992, was ranked second on this year’s list. Utiliworks, a Baton Rouge consulting company that helps companies control their energy bills, was third on the list.

Immense Networks of Baton Rouge was fourth, while Townsend of New Orleans was fifth and Launch Media of Baton Rouge was sixth. In seventh place was CompuFlow Solutions of Chandler, Ariz., followed by Landon Homes of Plano, Texas; Fremin General Contractors LLC of New Iberia and Audubon Engineering Co. of Metairie rounding out the top 10.
